I would like to know if atheists have meetings?

Do atheists get together and talk about why they are atheist? Is it always an individual choice or do they recall being "convinced" by other atheists?
What is the creed or dogma of the atheist? It is a simple choice like labeling oneself as a vegan though they are still able to eat meat?
